Much gratitude for your generosity in providing all of this information. I tried several things, including the guest mode, ping test, flushing. What finally worked was switching to Google’s DNS.

Thank you so much! My daughters chromebook has been having DNS issues. I must admit it was my first time using a Chromebook and I didn’t realize you had so very little control over the GUI. I used the command prompt to pull of basic network diagnostics but could not fix it. It was not until I flushed the DNS that it actually solved my problem!

Changing the wifi broadcast to channel 1,6 or 11 instantly fixed my DHCP issue. Thank you!

In reply to AC. Agreed, very detailed and potentially useful troubleshooting guide by Andy. However, like AC, I am getting the same error messages in crosh: Temporary failure in name resolution. I have tried every other measure suggested by Andy, without luck. AC, did you manage to get to the bottom of this?

Hey Andy, thanks so much for the helpful guide! My issue is the wi-fi suddenly stopped working on my Chromebook for my home network. However, the Chromebook works with my mobile hotspot. My home network also works with all my other devices (laptops, phones, voice assistants, TVs, etc.). I did a Powerwash and OS update, still no luck. It connects to the network but says no internet.

I ran the tracepath and ping as you suggested. The results are the same:
crosh> tracepath google.com
tracepath: google.com: Temporary failure in name resolution
crosh> ping -c 8 google.com
ping: google.com: Temporary failure in name resolution

Please let me know if you can help!
