alas a chrome bug/virus. in the nearly 6 years i never had issue like this. it kept going in a continuous loop at random times and lengths. fixed! yeay me that i know enough to fix the issue.

1) shut down computer – do NOT restart for about a week
2) powerwash (factory reset) the ***
3) good to go like new

my question is who would write a virus for linux/chomeos?

it does an endless loop so long as the ’puter is on a ‘on’ state. seems to die with an extended shutdown.

Thanks for the guide. I’ve been struggling with this error for the past couple of months.

Let me add my fix to the list.
The error used to happen to me every time the computer went to sleep. Remove the Google Play Store. Yep, remove the Android apps did it for me. It now has been stable for the past 6 hours.
(wait, did I just jinx myself?)

I had been removing Android apps one by one because I suspected that was a variable in the problem. I got tired and removed the entire thing.

I’ll add it back on later on when (if?) I need any Android apps.

My Win10 desktop has the same problem, go to Task Manager_Processes you will notice several instances of Google (exe) running concurrently. Kill the one closest to Google Crash Handler, which will allow you to reload Goog. Annoying, tho my suspicion is that recent unsolicited Advert changes, cross ownership of software/miiddleware/hardware etc are causing the problems. Tech companies are becoming like the car builders, buy each other but cannot offer a consolidated level of service.

I can’t reset sync cause I’m on school chromebook and settings is blocked for my school google account I use my chromebook on, so if I do, I can’t use sync cause I need settings to “via dashboard”.
